Description

Agni (Sanskrit: अग्नि) is a Hindu deity, one of the most important of the Vedic gods. He is the god of fire[1] and the acceptor of sacrifices. The sacrifices made to Agni go to the deities because Agni is a messenger from and to the other gods. He is ever-young, because the fire is re-lit every day, and also immortal.

Very beautiful!
Agni is a Messenger, yet Agni at the same time is also Parabrahm (Supreme God). The first Word in Rg Veda, which is the oldest surviving book of humankind, is "Agnim":

अग्निमीळे पुरोहितं यज्ञस्य देवं रत्वीजम
Aghnimīḷe purohitaṃ yajñasya devaṃ ṛtvījam
Agnim eeley purohitam yagnasya devam rutvijam

"I Laud Agni, the chosen Priest, God, Minister of Sacrifice."

(Rg Veda 1:1:1)

In Bhagavad Gita it clearly says that duality of all phenomena (Subject--interaction--Object or I--interaction--Non-I) is based on the Brahman, and IS a Brahman:

Brahmārpaṇaḿ Brahma havir
Brahmāgnau Brahmaṇā hutam
Brahmaiva tena gantavyaḿ
Brahma-karma-samādhinā

"В жертвенном акте-Брахмане
Приношение - также Брахман
Приносится в жертву Брахманом
На Огне Энергии Брахмана.
Кто созерцает действие-Брахмана,
тот достигает Брахмана."

(Bhagavad Gita 4:24, пер. В.С.Семенцова)

Sri Rudram, as well as numerous other scriptures, hint about the same:

Nama irinyaya cha prapata ya cha
Cha Nama urvyaya cha surmyaya
Cha Nama ak khyidate cha prak khidate
Cha Namo vah kirike bhyo dev na hrudayou bhyo
Namo vikshinake bhyo Namo vichinvakte bhyo

"I bow to the One who is the Desert and the Water.
I bow to the One who is in the Expanse and in the Swell.
I bow to the One who is within the Eyes and the One who is in front of the Eyes.
I bow to the One who is praised and who dwells in the hearts of the Gods.
I bow to the One who is the Observer; I bow to the One who is the Sound of the Words."

(Sri Rudram, Anuvaka 9)

I bow to the One, who is the first Word of Rg Veda - Agni
